So the search started. And quickly ended. It took us only 4 weeks to choose and buy the property. With a few minor headaches from the bank. The house was a complete wreck. But most definatley the worst house on the best street. But with Dave being a builder and feeling he was absolutley up for the challenge we went to auction and WON!!!!
So the story begins......
The wreck of a house was a deceased estate. It had been vacant for 2 years, and basically full of the previous owners rubbish. There were rat droppings, a bathroom that you couldn't even step into, a kitchen that's fridge had been running for 2 years, with its contents. It was in a word DISGUSTING!
So in we went, out came the carpets, down came the plasterboard walls, and we still couldn't get rid of the smell. So down came the ceilings. (At this time we were about 3 weeks from getting married).
We are now up to the stage of building new walls for the bathroom to make it all plumb. Choosing tiles and buying toilets. Not to mention designing exactly how we want everything, down to the smallest of details.
So here are some pic's. We will post on a weekly basis, as most of the work is happening on the weekend. So tune in on Tuesday's for a sneak peak of whats happening.
